Download this e-file and print out the Story Cards Conversation Game! Use this storytelling and relationship-building activity for parties, family gatherings, or reunions. Get to know each other better! Enjoy swapping stories with your friends, family, or any type of group. This activity works for all ages! • Contents (print these out and cut them out) • 25 Story Card Conversation Starters (100 Story Cards when they are printed and cut apart) • 32 “My Story” Answer Cards Instructions 1. Set a time limit for the game; typically 15 to 30 minutes. 2. Set a goal for the game. For example, you could say, “The object of the game is to ask two different people to answer your Story Card question. Answers should be recorded on the “My Story” Answer Cards. Sometimes answers are recorded, but sometimes the Story Cards are just used as a conversation starter. It’s up to you! 3. Distribute 1 or more Story Cards to guests. Perhaps let them choose the cards they want if there is time. Otherwise, pass them out randomly and watch the fun begin! 4. Distribute 1 or more “My Story” Answer Cards to each guest. More than one answer card may be needed for games lasting longer periods of time. 5. People can mingle with other people to get to know each other. They can also sit at tables and visit using the Story Card questions. You can assign people to groups or they can randomly choose their partners. 6. While paired off, each guest should ask his or her partner the question on his or her Story Card. The partner’s name and a general idea of the story should be written on the “My Story” Answer Card. 7. Once both partners have shared their story, the two should separate and pair up with new guests to exchange stories with. If the story-exchange process takes two guests five minutes, and takes two other guests 10 minutes, that’s okay! The guests who finish early should find other guests to share stories with based on the Story Cards. 8. This is not a race. Take your time, have fun and really get to know the special people around you.
