Help you leave your children a treasure
I recently lost my last living grandparent and feel so sad that there were many questions that they left unanswered. I'd have loved to know more about their childhoods, for example, because life on a Bavarian farm in the early 1900's couldn't be further from my American suburban upbringing. I only wish I'd had this book as a conversation starter so I'd have asked more questions and then written down the answers.

The way that this book is designed is to have one person go through hundreds of questions and write down short answers, so that the completed book can be left to children or grandchildren. I've been using it differently: I have been asking older family members some of the questions in the book, and have been writing down their answers, which are usually much too long to fit in the book. I've been saving the stories on thumb drives, which I will give to my child and her cousins when this is completed. I'm also going to make a printed and bound copy to save as a family treasure.

The book goes through a person's life chronologically, and asks questions I hadn't even thought of: what you spent your money on as a child, for example. My mother answered this one in a way I found sad. She had a drawer full of German money, which depression-era inflation had made worthless. She used it as scrap paper or to play with. She had no other money as a child, and was happy that she had enough food to eat. Your parents would probably answer this in a different way, but however they answer, it will add to the treasure chest of stories we can leave to our children.

I doubt anyone would fill the entire book -- my peasant farmer grandparents can't tell stories about their fraternities or sororities, for example. But the book gives you hundreds of questions to ask yourself and the older generation that you love. The answers may be funny, sad or surprising, but they will be a priceless gift to the generations that come after you.

Lovely Product
The book is great. I gave it to my grandmother for Mother's Day and she loved it. I figured it would be a nice way to document some of the history of her life.

Incredible Book!
I am a medical professional who is part of a team that works with individuals who have Mild Cognitive Impairment and we use this book everyday. It is a great tool to help individuals jog their memories about things that they may not have thought about in many years. At the same time, it is an excellent tool to help people begin to think about the future and plan accordingly.

I recommend this book for people both with and without memory weakness.

My dad is in the early stages of Alzheimers..
My dad is in the early stages of Alzheimers and our oldest child gifted him your lifebio for Christmas....Not sure how he would respond, we wanted to share with you that he writes in his "journal" every day and enjoys looking over his answers and finding empty pages.  He made a pact with our daughter that he would complete this important task and showed her where he kept his special book for safe keeping.    We have made it a gift for others and have referred the folks in his Alzheimer's support group to your site.  We recently shared this with an attorney who works with elder law.  Thank you for creating such a heartwarming treasure.
